UNCONTESTED DIVORCE INFORMATION SHEET

I understand the following information regarding my uncontested divorce being handled at Turner Law Offices, P.C.:

 1. That I am retaining Turner Law Offices, P.C. for an uncontested divorce. An uncontested divorce is a divorce wherein me and my spouse agree to all terms of the divorce, and that there are no issues that must be resolved in Court. If a dispute arises between me and my spouse, my divorce becomes contested, and another retainer agreement must be entered into between myself and Turner Law Offices, P.C. The fee I have paid for the uncontested divorce will be credited against any retainer I will have to pay for a contested divorce less any time billed against the uncontested divorce retainer. I understand that Turner Law Offices, P.C. will not do any work on my behalf other than that described  in Paragraph 2 unless an additional retainer agreement is reached.

2. That, in consideration of the $399.00 retainer fee for the purposes of being represented in an uncontested divorce by Turner Law Offices, P.C., a Complaint for Divorce, a Marital Dissolution Agreement, and a Final Decree of Divorce will be drafted and filed with the Court. These documents must be completed and filed together. The only grounds for divorce in an uncontested divorce is irreconcilable differences.  Additionally, I understand that I must pay a filing fee of $115.50 to the Court at the time of filing of the documents.  In the event that I have children and/or real estate, I understand that I will incur an additional fee for preparation of a Permanent Parenting Plan and/or Quit Claim Deed.

3. That, if any additional legal work is required other than that set forth in Paragraph 2 above, I will be billed on an hourly basis as follows:

HOURLY RATES

$200.00/HR ROBERT J. TURNER

$150.00/HR Associate of Turner Law Offices, P.C.

$ 95.00/HR Paralegals of Turner Law Offices, P.C.

$ 45.00/HR Law Clerks of Turner Law Offices, P.C.

$ 20.00/HR Runners of Turner Law Offices, P.C.

I understand that I will be billed for any and all phone calls to Turner Law Offices, P.C. and any and all office expenses incurred in the uncontested divorce. I understand that these fees and expenses are in addition to the uncontested divorce retainer fee.

4. That client will make sure that all of the paperwork is properly signed where required. The Complaint must be signed by the client in front of a Notary Public. The Marital Dissolution Agreement must be signed by the client and the spouse in front of a Notary Public. (There is a tag where the signatures are required) Each party may come into Turner Law Offices, P.C. to sign the paperwork, or, if preferred, the paperwork can be taken out of the offices, but must be signed before a Notary Public.

5. The paperwork must be signed and returned to Turner Law Offices, P.C. within thirty (30) days of the date of this Agreement, or Turner Law Offices, P.C. will assume that I have changed my mind and will close my file. If my file should be closed because it has taken more than thirty (30) days to return, I may have my file re-opened by contacting Turner Law Offices, P.C. and asking that my file be re-opened.

6. I understand that there is a mandatory waiting period before I can obtain my divorce. The mandatory waiting period is sixty (60) days without children and ninety (90) days with children. I understand that the mandatory waiting period does not begin to run until the Complaint for Divorce is filed with the Court, and that the Complaint for Divorce will not be filed until I have paid the filing fee.

7. I understand that Turner Law Offices, P.C. will notify me by mail of my final court date once it is set by the Court. Turner Law Offices, P.C. will automatically set the case on the Court’s docket once the mandatory waiting period has expired. I understand that I must immediately notify Turner Law Offices, P.C. of any address or telephone number change.

8. I understand that I must pay my retainer fee as set forth in the Legal Representation Agreement or that Turner Law Offices, P.C. will not do any legal work on my behalf. I further understand that I must pay all of my attorneys fees and costs prior to a court date being set by Turner Law Offices, P.C.
