Caitlyn Jenner Faces Lawsuit For Fatal Rear-End Accident
This story dates back to February when Caitlyn Jenner was still Bruce. She was driving on Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway and wound up rear-ending a Lexus into oncoming traffic, resulting in the death of its driver, Kim Howe.
However, Jenner and Howe weren’t the only drivers involved in the accident. Howe’s fatalities were the consequence of her Lexus colliding with a Hummer containing the Wolf-Millesi family. Although none of the 5 people in the Hummer died, some of them sustained injuries — including an infant who was non-responsive at the time of the crash.
Jenner was initially deemed “not negligent” during the investigation earlier this year, but her liability comes into question once more as the Wolf-Millesis file a fresh lawsuit on the grounds of physical and emotional injuries.
How Did The Crash Happen?
According to reports, Caitlyn Jenner was driving at an “unsafe speed for the traffic conditions” when she rear-ended Howe’s Lexus, causing it to be launched into another lane. Howe had hit her brakes somewhat abruptly when the Prius in front of her stopped for undisclosed reasons. The Wolf-Milesi Hummer collided with Howe after Jenner’s car pushed the Lexus into oncoming traffic.
Truth be told, the description of the incident doesn’t exactly support Jenner’s innocence. She was driving at “unsafe speeds” and the driver of the car she rear-ended wound up dying… However, an extensive investigation eventually showed that Jenner was driving under the speed limit, slower even than Howe.
Traffic Accidents = Widespread Fallout

In the lawsuit, this family of plaintiffs maintains that they are still suffering from the consequences of the car accident:
“The emotional effects of being involved in a collision that has taken the life of another has caused tremendous distress and suffering.”
Manslaughter Charges For Jenner?
As of yet, Caitlyn Jenner has been officially absolved of criminal charges for her involvement in the car crash that took the life of one driver and caused serious injuries to several others. But are vehicular manslaughter charges really off the table, now that so many lawsuits are being brought against her for negligence? After all, she did cause the accident. Rear-end collisions are usually caused by the driver in the rear, right?
We might take a look at Tennessee’s legislation for involuntary manslaughter, which includes vehicular homicide. According to state law, crimes are considered vehicular homicides if defendants engaged in activities with high-risk of injury. Classic examples of vehicular homicide are deaths caused by drunk drivers or during unlawful drag racing. This crime is considered a Class C felony, unless DUI charges are also included, in which case felony charges are Class B.
While California’s legislation undoubtedly will differ in certain respects from Tennessee’s, we can be reasonably sure that state laws regarding homicide are taken seriously nationwide. Criteria for crimes probably don’t differ state-by-state so much as penalties for crimes. Caitlyn Jenner could certainly be in for some pretty severe consequences due to the number of victims coming forward with lawsuits.
