Kanye West: “I’m Broke!”
Broke-Ye West
Great musician and first class jerk Kanye West admitted on Twitter earlier this week that he was $53 million in debt. For someone as arrogant and cocky as Kanye is, it came as quite the surprise that he not only publicly announced he was broke, but he also pleaded for help. Kanye asked for assistance from Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Facebook, most notably. Kanye, who released new album “The Life of Pablo” last week, is not just a musician. He also has his own fashion line called “Yeezy.” Additionally, his wife is Kim Kardashian West who is fairly wealthy herself. Kanye is not one to blow his money at the club, so it is surprising to see him be financially drained.
Sell Your Album, Ye
Kanye released “The Life of Pablo” exclusively on Tidal, a music-streaming service owned by Jay-Z. For some reason, he refuses to sell the new album on iTunes or other music services that would eliminate most — if not all — of his debt. Now, he will have to split some of the profits from Tidal with his buddy Jay-Z. If Kanye really needs money in this time of need, he should sell “The Life of Pablo.” Many people are missing out on his new music because they do not want sign up for the service which costs $12.99 monthly. Kanye is a marketing genius, but this move to not sell the album is just plain dumb.
