Knicks Coach Derek Fisher Files for Divorce
Derek Fisher, the head coach for the New York Knicks NBA team, has filed for divorce from his wife, Candace Fisher.
Fisher filed in a Los Angeles court, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for ending the marriage. The two had just celebrated their ten-year anniversary only a month before the divorce.
Together, the couple have two children, who are twins. One of the children, a daughter, had suffered from a rare form of eye cancer, which, back in 2007, Fisher had left the Utah Jazz as a guard in order to focus on getting her treatment for the ailment.
In the filing, Fisher has asked for joint legal and physical custody of the twins. He is also seeking to split the legal costs, meaning the two are hoping for a nice, clean split.
Fisher has since released a statement asking for privacy and respect during this troubling time.
