Kardashian Reconciles with Husband After Brothel Bash
Remember last week when Khloé Kardashian’s ex-NBA player husband, Lamar Odom, got hospitalized after partying too hard at a brothel? Well, surprisingly enough, his sexy run-in with death seems to have inspired an attempt at fixing the marriage which has been in the process of dissolution since Winter of 2013. I guess strange circumstances sometimes have a way of bringing people together. Or at least encouraging people to try.
Passed Out at Love Ranch
On October 10, Lamar Odom checked into the Crystal, Nevada brothel known as ‘Love Ranch.’ He paid $75,000 to spend four days in the VIP suite with two ladies. Three days later, he was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital after losing consciousness. This past Friday he finally woke up after extensive treatment, and has been moved to a Los Angeles hospital, where he has been making “incredible strides.”
Why did he pass out? It’s kind of up in the air. There’s reports that he mentioned taking cocaine at Love Ranch, but none of the employees saw it happen (if it did). They DID see him getting drunk and taking a herbal Viagra substitute that’s been the subject of FDA warnings in years past. So again, it’s really up in the air, just like the potential charges authorities might press on both him and Love Ranch if his blood test results show anything illegal.
Keeping Up With Marriage
The strangest part of the whole situation might be it’s apparent impact on Khloe and Lamars’ marriage. It hasn’t had the best track record. After meeting each other at a party in 2009, they got married a month later, and fans watched it happen on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” If that doesn’t scream “publicity stunt,” I don’t know what does.
Then came the 2013 divorce filing. Khloe and Lamars’ relationship has, by all accounts, been riddled with misfortune. But she’s sticking with him through his “failings” and recovery, and her lawyer filed documentation toward having their ongoing divorce dismissed. If necessary, the divorce proceedings can be resumed at any point.
Marital Reconciliation and Tennessee Law
If Kardashian and Odom had been pursuing divorce in Tennessee, they’d still be able to expunge their divorce filings. State law allows for divorcing parties who have reconciled the differences which lead to divorce proceedings to submit a petition that basically voids the divorce.
However, before divorce records can be expunged, the judge will make sure that all court fees up to the point of reconciliation have been paid. In addition, there’s a clerk’s fee of $50.00 for the expungement itself.
